Understanding Proverbs 2:1–5
In this passage, God tells us what we need to do to understand His Word:
- Receive His Word as truth and keep it in your heart.
- Listen to wisdom and apply your heart to understanding.
- Call out for insight and cry out for understanding.
- Seek wisdom with the same passion you would have for silver or hidden treasure.
Then — and only then:
- You will understand the fear of the Lord.
- You will find the knowledge of God.
There is an order to this. Understanding God’s Word is deeper than simply opening the Bible and reading a verse. It goes beyond completing Bible plans. Let’s look at how this works.
Accept God’s Word as truth and keep it in your heart
This is the foundation of studying God’s Word effectively. When you approach Scripture as God speaking directly to you — as truth above every experience, culture, or opinion — transformation begins.
Romans 12:2 reminds us not to conform to the patterns of this world but to be transformed by renewing our minds. When you believe God’s Word, your old beliefs rooted in fear, past experiences, or culture are replaced. Your perspective on challenges, identity, purpose, health, and every area of life begins to change.
The Word becomes a mirror, revealing who you are in Christ, showing God’s nature, His character, and His will for you. Keeping this in your heart equips you to stand confidently in the face of adversity.
Listen to the wisdom of God and commit to understanding it in your heart
The wisdom of God is available to anyone who seeks it. Don’t rush through Scripture just to finish a plan — slow down. When a verse stands out, pause and meditate on it until it becomes alive in your heart.
For the Word to bear fruit, you must understand it.
Jesus highlights this in Matthew 13:23:
“He who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit…”God speaks through His Word, but it is understanding that produces transformation. So listen — and take the time to understand.

Call out to the Holy Spirit so that the eyes of your understanding may be opened. God says that if anyone lacks wisdom, we should ask Him, and He will give generously. The wisdom of God comes through the Spirit of God. As believers, we have the privilege of having the Holy Spirit as our Teacher. Jesus promised that when the Holy Spirit comes, He will lead us into all truth — and that is exactly what He does. He reveals the things God has prepared for those who love Him.
You cannot study the Word of God effectively without the Holy Spirit. He is the one who illuminates scripture and opens our understanding.
Commit to studying God’s Word as you would search for something valuable
The Word of God is alive and active, sharper than any two-edged sword. When you study the Bible — not to finish a plan or check a box, but with the curiosity of an investigative journalist — you begin to see its depth. Look for what God is saying, the context, the setting, the principles, and the promises. Approach scripture with intention and reverence.
Look for Jesus
“But those things which God foretold by the mouth of all His prophets, that the Christ would suffer, He has thus fulfilled.” — Acts 3:18
The Gospel spoken by the prophets pointed to Jesus Christ. The entire Bible — from Genesis to Revelation — is designed to reveal Him. For example, Jonah’s story was symbolic of Christ’s death and resurrection. Through the cross, humanity’s rebellion was dealt with, and we became new creations.
When you study Scripture with your eyes on Jesus, you begin to understand God’s original design for humanity, what went wrong, and how He restored us. You learn to identify with your new nature — not with the sick, the broken, or the defeated characters in the Bible, but with Christ Himself.
2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come.”
Many believers struggle with identity because we read Scripture as the people who came to Jesus for help — rather than the people He recreated in righteousness.God invites us into a deeper relationship with His Word — not through surface-level reading, but through seeking, listening, and understanding. When you treasure Scripture, invite the Holy Spirit to teach you, look for Jesus in every passage, and commit to truly grasping what God is saying, the Bible becomes more than a book — it becomes life, wisdom, clarity, and direction.

What Is Fear According to the Bible?
2 Timothy 1:7 shows us three things:
Fear is a spirit.
Fear does not come from God.

Fear often begins as doubt—doubting God’s Word, doubting His protection, or doubting His love. Many times it doesn’t appear as fear at first. It may show up as a “logical decision” that contradicts God’s Word, or a thought that challenges your faith. If left unchallenged, it grows and steals peace.

Not knowing who you are in Christ, what God has given you, or what God has promised you opens the door to fear. Many believers fear because they do not know the nature of God, the authority they carry, or the promises available to them. All of this knowledge is found in the Word of God.
2. Lack of Focus
Fear grows when we entertain thoughts that oppose God’s promises. The enemy whispers confusion, discouragement, and lies.

1. Live According to the Word of God

2. Recognize the Sovereignty of God

You have been redeemed from the curse of the law

What is the law?
The Law, also known as the Law of Moses or the Torah (the first five books of the Bible), contains over 600 commandments, primarily found in Exodus through Deuteronomy. Although referred to as Moses’ law, it is God’s law given through Moses. Its foundation is the Ten Commandments. It is categorized into Moral laws (reflecting God’s character, e.g., Ten Commandments), Civil laws (governing daily life and justice), and Ceremonial laws (concerning worship, rituals, and cleanliness). The purpose of the law
‘What purpose then does the law serve? It was added because of transgressions, till the Seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was appointed through angels by the hand of a mediator. Now a mediator does not mediate for one only, but God is one. Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law. But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed. Therefore, the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.’ Galatians 3:19-25 (NKJV)
The law was introduced as a guide for man until the coming of Christ. It was given to point men to Jesus Christ by revealing to men their sin and sinful nature (Romans 3:20) so that through Jesus Christ we can be made righteous. The law was given to show us our need for salvation. Initially, righteousness was a result of observing the law. However, it was hard to be in the right standing before God as you had to observe the WHOLE LAW, all 600+ commandments. That was a tedious task. The law then was given to reveal that our right standing before God could not be achieved by our works or in the flesh, no matter how much they tried, but through Christ, our mediator. After the coming of Jesus Christ, there was no need for the law, because His coming has fulfilled the law. All it’s demands were fulfilled in Jesus Christ.
The curse of the law
‘ But if you will not obey the voice of the Lord your God, being watchful to do all His commandments and His statutes which I command you this day, then all these curses shall come upon you and overtake you:’ Deuteronomy 28:15 (AMPC)
The curse of the law resulted from not living up to everything the law says, that is, following the law in partiality. Any deviation from anything written in the book of the law was cursed. Galatians 3:10 tells us that ‘For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not continue in ALL THINGS which are written in the book of the law, to do them.” ‘
In Galatians 5:2-4 (NLT) Paul says to the Galatians, ‘Listen! I, Paul, tell you this: If you are counting on circumcision to make you right with God, then Christ will be of no benefit to you. I’ll say it again. If you are trying to find favor with God by being circumcised, you must obey every regulation in the whole law of Moses. For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace. ‘
Redeemed from the curse of the law
Jesus upheld and fulfilled the Law (Matthew 5:17), and with His coming, the Law’s purpose was completed. Believers now live under the New Covenant, serving God through the Spirit, not by the letter of the old code (Romans 7:6; 4). He came to fulfill the law by becoming the access to God we need. Because not observing the law to a tee was impossible for man to maintain, Jesus came to reveal a better way, the way of grace and faith. Now what Christ came to do, was to die for our sins and become our mediator before God, so that any wrongdoing does not place a curse on us. He became the curse on behalf of all men so that we could have access to the blessing of Abraham. That is the redemption we have received. We are no longer under the law but under grace.
Here is the good news, in this dispensation under the new covenant of the blood of Jesus, obedience to the law does not mean anything to God (Galatians 5:6). We have been redeemed from the curse of the law. Our right standing before God is not because of what we do or do not do, but what Christ has done. This is why even a “good” man or woman can still go to hell. Our righteousness is of Christ who has redeemed us from the curse of the law. We are not saved by works but by grace and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. ‘ [All] are justified and made upright and in right standing with God, freely and gratuitously by His grace (His unmerited favor and mercy), through the redemption which is [provided] in Christ Jesus,’ Romans 3:24 (AMPC)
Therefore if you find yourself relying on observing the law like the Sabbath for example, you are still under the curse. Because you cannot be both under the law and the grace of God. The Bible tells us in Galatians 3:11 that no one is justified before God by the law. The righteous (those in right standing with, those whom Christ has made righteous in the sight of God) have been made that way through faith in Him. If then you are led by the Spirit, you are no longer under the law Galatians 5:18. When you receive the Spirit of God through faith in Christ, you are free from the desires of sinful nature. Your life is led by the Holy Spirit and no longer by observing the law or works. Righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe in Romans 3:22.
The summation of the law under the new covenant
If then Jesus came to fulfill the law what does this look like in the new covenant? The fulfillment of the law under the new covenant of the blood of Jesus is love. Romans 13:8-9 says the one who loves has fulfilled the whole law. ‘Don’t owe anything to anyone, except your outstanding debt to continually love one another, for the one who learns to love has fulfilled every requirement of the law. For the commandments, “Do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not covet,” and every other commandment can be summed up in these words: “Love and value others the same way you love and value yourself.” ‘
God presented Jesus Christ as a sacrifice of atonement (Romans 3:25). This was a sign of His love. ‘“And just as Moses in the desert lifted up the brass replica of a venomous snake on a pole for all the people to see and be healed, so the Son of Man is ready to be lifted up, so that those who truly believe in him will not perish but be given eternal life. For here is the way God loved the world—he gave his only, unique Son as a gift. So now everyone who believes in him will never perish but experience everlasting life.’ John 3:14-16 (TPT)
Jesus is telling us that the entire law hinges upon LOVE. Everything that God gave the Israelites hinged on love for God and love for others. Paul echoes this in Galatians 5:14 ‘For all the law can be summarized in one grand statement: “Demonstrate love to your neighbor, even as you care for and love yourself.” ‘
‘When the Pharisees heard that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, they called a meeting to discuss how to trap Jesus. Then one of them, a religious scholar, posed this question to test him: “Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?” Jesus answered him, “ ‘Love the Lord your God with every passion of your heart, with all the energy of your being, and with every thought that is within you.’ This is the great and supreme commandment. And the second is like it in importance: ‘You must love your friend in the same way you love yourself.’ Contained within these commandments to love you will find all the meaning of the Law and the Prophets.”’ Matthew 22:34-40 (TPT).
Now that you understand this, do not be involved in unedifying and unnecessary arguments about the commandments. Live a life under the grace of God having faith in Jesus Christ and what His death and ascension means. You have been redeemed from the curse of the law, and you are free indeed (John 8:36).

Hannah’s Story- A testament of trust in God
The story of Hannah and Penninah offers profound insight into the competition that often arises between women. This theme is not unique to their story—we see it echoed in the relationships between Leah and Rachel, Sarah and Hagar. It reflects a long comparison history among women, rooted in the human desire to prove oneself superior. It’s a battle of identity and worth, often driven by the need to feel better than the other.
One remarkable characteristic of Hannah that stands out is her ability to take her burdens directly to God. She ran to the throne of grace before she ran to anyone else. She was deeply grieved—a level of anguish so profound that the priest, Eli, accused her of being drunk. Her sorrow was raw and overwhelming. Meanwhile, her rival, Penninah, taunted her cruelly, rubbing salt in her wounds and constantly reminding her that God had not given her children. Many women can relate to this kind of pain: crying out to God for that one thing their heart desires, pouring out tears until there are none left.
Hannah’s devotion is inspiring. Despite her heartbreak and the limitations placed on her—her womb being closed by the Lord—she remained steadfast in her faith. Imagine a woman so faithful and committed to God, yet unable to fulfill what was seen as a fundamental role of women: childbirth. She was provoked to the point of despair, grieving so deeply that her demeanor was altered.
Have you ever desired something so desperately from God that it changed your posture? When the usual way of approaching God no longer feels sufficient? That was Hannah. She was so consumed by her pain that Eli mistook her heartfelt prayers for drunkenness and rebuked her, urging her to get herself together and leave the temple. Year after year, she remained devoted, pouring her heart out to God, but still, no child came. How do you stay steadfast in your faith when you’re doing everything God asks of you, yet remain without the one thing your heart longs for?
When God finally answered Hannah’s prayer, she didn’t cling selfishly to the blessing out of fear or insecurity. She honored her vow to God. She had promised that if God blessed her with a child, she would dedicate him back to the Lord—and she did. Hannah gave her son Samuel to God’s service and was later blessed with five more children: three sons and two daughters.
Hannah’s story is a testament to trust. She was discouraged, filled with deep anguish and sorrow. But once Eli spoke a word of blessing over her, everything changed. She trusted that God had heard her prayer. Her sorrow lifted, and she went to eat, no longer sad. In just moments, she moved from being downtrodden and discouraged to being covered by the peace of God. Unlike the Shunammite woman, whose womb was opened through honor, Hannah’s womb was opened through unwavering trust in God.

Can a Christian be gay?
Some years back, I was watching a video online about a man who previously lived a homosexual lifestyle. And how he found God and got saved. At that moment I felt the love of God well up in me as he shared his story. Indeed God`s grace is available to all. After this, I decided to go through the comments only to be met by some heartbreaking statements like, ‘you can be both, gay and Christian’.
I was stunned at how the devil has deceived many to think that this statement is true and realized how it spoke volumes to the verse in 2 Corinthians 4:4: ‘Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.’
Remember, the enemy’s purpose is to taint God’s plan, and purpose for human beings. 2 Corinth 4:4 lets us know how he blinds the minds of unbelievers so they can stay where they are, with this skewed view of themselves, people around them, the world and God. Although it’s sad to comprehend the gravity of the deception of people who are dead set on this lifestyle, it’s a reminder to believers of our mission here on this earth. It challenges us to minister love and bring our brothers and sisters to the knowledge of Jesus Christ.
In this post, I would like to address this notion from a different perspective. Most of us are broken, and our response to that brokenness differs. Some broken people abuse others, others will control, while others break down or become anxious or easily stressed, and others simply believe otherwise about their identity. Homosexuality is a coping mechanism that the devil uses just like drugs or alcohol or any other addiction. It introduces the enemy and demonic spirits that take control of your life and gives the enemy legal access.
Having studied a number of people who no longer identify as LGBTQ, I have come to realize that this identity is as a result of trauma. Most of these individuals have experienced some level of trauma that has caused them to identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, etc. Whilst we usually think of obvious trauma such as abuse, violence, loss of a loved one, what we do not realize is trauma can also come from other sources such as bullying, being reprimanded by a parent, and an overly strict upbringing or even severe illness.
Our perspective of self can change because of that trauma. Even the not-so-obvious traumas as well. So what you will discover is as a coping mechanism our minds adopt an identity that looks safe. Because of the nature of trauma, the effects differ from person to person. So people take the relief route that the enemy introduces that has nothing to do with God. If one is not founded on the truth of God’s word, there is a tendency to explore other avenues that seem to make more sense.
The enemy introduces an unnatural affinity that reshapes our identity. This is not new. The devil is not creative but deceptive. We see in the bible where people’s identity became what they experienced or did in their past 1 Corinthians 6:9-10. If there is no God and His Word, people will turn to the alternative. The counterfeit of love, stress relief, comfort, joy, and peace. The alternatives of the fruit of the spirit.
Here is where it gets worse. Any form of relief outside of God’s word gives the enemy access and authority in our lives. This then introduces demonic spirits that possess and oppress an individual causing all sorts of problems in their lives. So those wounds become open doors that give the enemy access to build warped belief systems about yourself, others, the world, and God.
Who is a Christian?
The word Christian comes from the English translation of the greek word Christos meaning ‘the anointed one’. It is given toany who has surrendered their life to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. And surrender means living by His standards clearly stated in His Word!
What does being gay and Christian really mean?
Now that we know what being a Christian means, what does being gay and Christian really mean? That’s a question we all want answers to. An attack on identity, relationship with God, and authority is an obvious trick of the devil that he even used on Jesus. It’s not new. He knows if he plants thoughts about your identity it will move you away from God and strip you of the authority you have as an heir in the Kingdom of God. See how the enemy tried to get to Jesus’ purpose through his identity.
You might say that LGBTQ+ is a sexual orientation, not an identity issue. However, anything that supersedes the words I AM describing how you perceive self is an identity of sorts. Identity cannot be separated from the spiritual because of its association with God or the enemy. The root of identity is spiritual. Salvation, and redemption are all spiritual miracles.
This explains how there is still a void even with the assurance of your identity being true. Unless your identity is in Christ the bible says we shall always thirst and hunger for more. Jesus Christ is the bread that fills us up and the living water that quenches our thirst, whatever that may be.
What does the bible say about homosexuality?
In as much as many people have mentioned how silent the bible is on homosexuality, tha is completely untrue. The bible is very clear in this. First the most profoud statement God gives in support to this is He created them male and female Genesis 5:2. There is no further evidence of any other gender being created, nor is there example of someone you transitioned.
‘“If a man practices homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman, both men have committed a detestable act. They must both be put to death, for they are guilty of a capital offense.’ Leviticus 20:13. Its very clear, homosexuality is not an identity, its a sin! Instead of death under the law, God sent His Son for our redemption. He gives you an opportunity to turn to Him and be made new.
As I continued to watch this video, I realised how this man was very much aware of how God and homosexuality did not go hand in hand. To him, God was the enemy. He knew the two didn’t have any relationship. So he stayed away from Christianity, from God, and from the church. If you identify as homosexual, something in you tells you how wrong this is.
One will tell you it comes naturally to them as opposite-sex attraction. However, in Romans 1:26-32, the bible calls these unnatural desires It’s even more sad to see people who feel condemned and think this whole ‘Jesus’ thing is a way to snatch their freedom, when in actual fact Jesus is that freedom. John 8:36 It’s sad to see how people reverence(fear, rather) one sin over the other. It’s sad when we fall prey to short term pleasure and suffer long term pain. It’s sad to see how our views of God’s word have been tainted to evolve with the modern age.
Therefore, the answer is no, you can not be gay and Christian. You cannot identify as LGBTQ and Christian. The scriptures do not adapt or evolve to suit modern culture. God is clear on that. He does not change the thing He spoke because He keeps saying the same words. The scriptures are timeless and applicable all the time, otherwise it will only make God archaic and irrelavant in todays world.
It is abomination to say the creator of the world and all life in it is out of touch with our world today. We may change but God doesn’t. And our change mostly drives us away from God. The word of God defies systems, time, culture and tradition.
We drift from Gods commands and give the flesh room to sit on the throne of our lives. But what’s sad is also how we suffer at the hand of the enemy through the beautiful gift of sex. An act that allows us to experience a level of intimacy, a union that is not only natural, but spiritual. And yet that same gift has made us selfish…. So that we seek self satisfaction through adultery, fornication, homosexuality, masturbation and pornography. This is a very sensitive issue, however I’ll say this. We need to pray for each other, our brothers and sisters who suffer in silence.
“I was born this way” is a lie from the pit of hell
Whether it has to do with behavioral characteristics such as anger, or sexual orientation, at the root are wounds that need healing. If you consider yourself LGBTQ, but feel as though something ain’t right, it’s not because the world is against you. Even in communities that support this identity, some people still feel as though something is wrong deep down. It’s because you are broken. The nature of God, the nature in mankind opposes this identity.
If you have felt an urge to give up this identity and walk in your true identity in Christ, I would like you to take this opportunity to pray with me now so you can become a follower of Christ(not a listener, not a church goer,) but someone who embodies the nature, character, and life of Jesus Christ. You will need to go through deliverance from the demonic forces over your life and inner healing so your mindset can shift to a new narration about yourself.
Here is the something about Jesus you probably never heard. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. John 3:17 NLT. Jesus Christ came to save you where He says I will not judge those who hear me but don’t obey me, for I have come to save the world and not to judge it. But all who reject me and my message will be judged on the day of judgment by the truth I have spoken John 12:47-48 NLT. Therefore, you need to make the decision to break out of the bondage in which the enemy has kept you.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I repent of all my sins. Forgive me Lord. I believe in your Son Jesus Christ who died nd resurrected to deliver me from my sins. I surrender my life to you in Jesus Name I pray, Amen
Congratulations you just surrender your life to Jesus Christ. He will heal you and start to teach you about who He is and what he has created you to be.
The responsibility of every believer
As a believer of Jesus Christ reading this, I’d like to let you know it is our responsibility to, as the bible says, Rescue others by snatching them from the flames of judgment. Show mercy to still others, but do so with great caution, hating the sins that contaminate their lives. Jude 1:23 NLT. Most people who identify as LGBTQ feel condemned rather than see their brokenness and heal it.
Therefore, do not be quick to judge, condemn or point fingers, that’s not the character of God. Call out the sin, do not condone it. God is redemptive and wants all man to come to the knowledge of Him and not to perish. Our job is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and let the Holy Spirit do His work.
We need to pray for the deliverance of our brothers and sisters who have believed the lies about God. It’s unfortunate that those who haven’t come to the knowledge of God see Christians as the only God they know. So their knowledge and experience of God is summed up by you and me. It’s either by some religious folk whose knowledge of God is also tainted or by someone who has experienced the grace and love of God first hand.
In summary I say this, we need to pray, not only that, but we need to submit to the vision of the body of Christ. So what’s the vision and mission?
Vision: To make disciples of all nations. Mission: Go into the world and preach the gospel.
Prayer is not enough, we need to take action. I always say this, ministry is an everyday interaction with the people you meet. Let’s go out and bring our brothers and sisters home.

Many people who were in pain and suffering with every kind of illness were brought to Jesus for their healing—epileptics, paralytics, and those tormented by demonic powers were all set free. Everyone who was brought to Jesus was healed! Matthew 4:24 TPT
It is God’s will to heal. Healing is part of the atonement and is included in God’s redemptive plan. This is echoed in Isaiah 53:4–5 tells us that Jesus bore our sicknesses and carried our pains and Acts 10:38 says, “God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, and He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil.”
God is not the author of sickness. Nowhere in the Bible do we ever see Jesus making anyone sick.
Sickness comes from Satan (Acts 10:38; 1 John 3:8). Some may argue using the story of Miriam, who was struck with leprosy, or the story of Job. However, how God dealt with sickness under the Old Covenant is very different from how He deals with it under the New Covenant.
We must understand that we have been redeemed from the curse of the law. We now live under a better covenant, established on better promises. Under the Old Testament, blessings were conditional upon strict obedience to the law and statutes. Under the New Covenant, healing is accessed through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ.
We can initiate our healing by appropriating the Word and promises of God.
The manifestation of healing is not always instant. Sometimes it comes through revelation of the Word and the finished work of Jesus on the cross. At other times, it comes through deliverance from demonic oppression. The fig tree that Jesus spoke to shows us this principle clearly—what is addressed in the spirit eventually manifests in the natural.
Understanding Divine Healing
God’s method of healing is spiritual and can be lost if not guarded. God heals through the human spirit. God is Spirit, and “the spirit of man is the candle of the Lord.” God enlightens and guides us through our spirit.
“He sent His Word and healed them and delivered them from their destruction.” That Word—under the New Covenant—is Jesus.God has given us the written Word to reveal the Living Word, the Lord Jesus Christ. Man receives healing by acting on the Word. That action is faith. “I will show you my faith by my actions.” Faith in God is acting as though God’s Word is true.
The Word of God is the most effective, natural, non-toxic medicine—guaranteed to bring healing.
What to Do When Symptoms Return
The devil is predictable. The same tactic he used with Jesus during His temptation is what he uses against us today. His goal was to make Jesus question His identity and authority.
When symptoms return, it is the devil attempting to get you to agree with him, cancel what you have already declared, and reverse what the Lord has already done. He wants you to believe in symptoms over what has already been made available through the finished work of Jesus on the cross.
1. Guard Your Heart
Proverbs 4:23 says, “Guard your heart with all diligence, for out of it flow the issues of life.” The heart is the place where thoughts are formed, and those thoughts shape our bodies and lives. Health flows from the state of the heart—this is why we are instructed to guard it carefully. This is echoed in Proverbs 23:7 where it says, “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” That is why renewing the mind is essential.
Guarding your heart is guarding what you believe. In Romans 12:1–2, Paul instructs us to present our bodies as living sacrifices. Our bodies submit to the spirit man. He then explains how this happens— you guard your heart by refusing to conform to the patterns of this world and by being transformed through the renewing of the mind.
Ask yourself:
What do you believe about health and healing?
What have you been taught about sickness, generational curses, or suffering?Your health is connected to the prosperity of your soul—your mind, will, and emotions.
2. Resist the Devil
“Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7) This verse means exactly what it says. When the symptoms come, resist them. Do what you normally do, and do not listen to any whispers about incapacitation. Resist him in thought but also in action. As the bible says, The just shall live by faith and we walk by faith and not by sight. You need to resist and live beyond what you see.
3. Keep Building Your Faith and Eliminate Doubt
Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. Pray in the Spirit, building yourself up in your most holy faith. Continue meditating on the Word until it replaces what you believe and what you see. Renew your mind daily with Scripture. Practice acting on the Word above feelings, symptoms, personal experiences, or the experiences of others. The Bible is clear: a person who doubts should not expect to receive anything from the Lord (James 1).
Before sharing the declarations, it is important to build this foundation—so your beliefs are aligned with the truth, and you understand the good news about healing. When your belief is settled, you can declare God’s Word boldly, confidently, and without wavering.
Remember this: Healing is a part of the blessing of the new covenant in the blood of Jesus. And this is echoed in our theme scripture. As we see in Matthew 4, it did not matter what sickness someone had, ALL WHO CAME TO JESUS WERE HEALED, powerful! This is true for you today as you make these prayer declarations of health and healing, remember the finished work of Jesus at Calvary. Being born again is one of the most important events in the life of every person who is born into this world. Firstly, one is born into the world, and automatically has a sinful nature. This nature comes from the fact that Adam sinned, therefore all sinned, and every curse that was pronounced as result of Adam and Eve’s sinning, becomes ours at birth.
God however did not give up on you and I despite the fact that Adam sinned and was cast out of the presence of God (the garden of Eden). Throughout your journey in life, God will continue to seek an opportunity for you to know Him again as Adam knew Him in the garden of Eden, and to have a personal relationship with Him, through the son Jesus Christ.

When you believe in Jesus Christ, your believing is not a waste as many would think, nor is it hoax. There are three spiritual things that happen as a result of being saved in Jesus Christ and no other.
The gifts of the forgiveness of sins.
The first of which is the forgiveness of the very sins you were born with because of Adam’s sin. God automatically removes those sins and curses from your life, and counts you worthy to be a partaker (participator) in His divine kingdom, and enjoy all the benefits (blessings) that come as a result of becoming a child of God, that is a believer.
The moment you believe that Jesus Christ is Lord and savior of your life, you automatically receive the forgiveness of sins. This is a gift in itself because, you did not do anything to deserve it. In Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV, it is clearly explained this way, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.”
All you did was accept in your heart, and God’s spirit came in to dwell inside you and mark you for His eternal kingdom. You did not have to sweat for it, because Jesus Christ did it all for you. That is why Jesus died for you and I, it was to pay the price for our sins, otherwise we would still be living a condemned life.
John 3:16-18 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”
Anytime you feel like you are a sinner but know that you beliebed in Jesus Christ, remember that your sins were paid for, and you were acquitted of all guilt. You now have to live in the grace you have received in Christ, and enjoy this gift from God, because in Him is not condemned anymore, Romans 8:1.

When you get born again, and your life is now in Christ, you receive the gift of righteousness. Simply defined rightesouness is a right standing with God all the time, everyday. After the forgiveness of sins, God automatically counted you righteous before Him. This means that you are not guilty, even when you commit a sin, you are automaticaly not guilty. You might still pay the consequences of sinning, because you are here on earth, but the grace of God, has geanted you righteous life. This means God does not see you as a sinner.
In Romans 5:17 KJV the bible says, “For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.” The offence that is being explained is Adam’s offence, but Jesus Christ put an end to that offence, and therefore you are now a righteous being. When you believed in jesus Christ, your sins had to be first removed so that the Holy Spirit could dwell in you. Otherwise God’s spirit cannot dwell in you except the unrighteous acts (sin nature) of the devil was removed. That is why you must accept this gift, but whether you’re aware of it or not, by virture of believing in Jesus by faith, God counts you as a righteous one.
This happened to Abraham, and we see it explained in the word of God. Romans 4:2-3 KJV says, “For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.” He believed by faith, just as you believed by faith in Jesus Christ.
The gift of righteousness helps you reign in life, living above sin, sickness or disease and poverty. It helps you to stand before God unblameable, and know that God can receive you anytime, and hear your prayers to Him. The righteous nature that has been imparted in you, gives you right to stand before God and communicate with Him unashamedly because all enmity between you and God as a result of sin, was removed, and therefore you were acquitted by faith in Jesus Chist the saviour, and you are now at peace with God, Romans 5:1-2.
The gift for an abundant life, also known as “Zoe”.
Jesus came in order that you and I might have life, and that life in all its fullness, John 10.10 GNT. The devil caused all forms of death, destruction, and condemnation. However, Jesus Christ came to give life in its totality. When one is born again, they automatically receive eternal life. A life in which one does not die. Your physical body will perish, yes, because this world is still condemned until Jesus comes again, to take his church and those who died as Christians into a restored Kingdom in which God reigns as supreme over all, and the devil’s works are put to a stop once and for all. However, the death of the born-again believer is no longer possible when one is now in Christ.
When you are born again, you receive the Holy Spirit. But this is not ordinary, because the Holy Spirit, according to the Bible, is not just any kind of spirit. It is Jesus Christ himself living inside of you. That is why in John 10:10 KJV, the word says, “He came in order that you might have life, and have life in abundance. Jesus described Him as the Spirit of truth, because He was meant to guide us into all truth. Later, Apostle Paul, by revelation, described Him as the Spirit of Life.
In Romans 8:1-2 KJV, we see that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Life. “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.” You were made free from sin and death once and for all because you received the Holy Spirit, a gift from God by His grace, so that you may live life to the full. At the return of Jesus Christ, you will ultimately receive a glorified body, which is not subject to the elements of this world, otherwise, in your spirit, you are not only forgiven, made righteous, but you have life, that is summed up in alk that Jesus Christ is. This is why the in the epistle of John, he emphasizes our very being whilst here on earth. 1 John 4:17 KJV “Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.” When you are born again, and have received the gift of life, you are literally like what Jesus is like in your renewed (born again) spirit.
The eternal life is a pathway to the revelation of the glory of God. The Holy Spirit is both the conveyor and administrator of the life of God in man. The greatest of the three graces mentioned above, is the grace for the gift of eternal life. He gives eternal life, the very life that is invested in Him. Eternal life is the quality of life that makes you enjoy, wisdom, intelligence, vitality, power, and so much more. A life you can draw from anytime you have need, anytime you want to achieve something and anytime you question who you are in Christ.
The life that Jesus Christ came to give is not biological; it is Himself. This is how he is able to dwell in each every one who believes in Him. It is through the Holy Spirit. Anything that does not resemble the totality of the life of God, in you, you have the power to reject it, because only righteousness can dwell with righteousness, and darkness cannot dwell with righteousness, 2 Corinthians 6:14-16 NIV.

How the Holy Spirit works in you and through you
There are things that God desires to do in your life that He administers through the Holy Spirit. He works in you and through you by the Holy Spirit to administer fruitfulness, peace, abundance, speed, restoration, health and many more things that you need to live the Christian life successfully.
The Holy Spirit is called the spirit of life or the spirit who gives life. In Romans 8:2, the bible says, “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.” Did you know that when you believed in Jesus Christ and when you received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, you received life, when the Holy Spirit came to live inside you, you received the spirit that administers life in you daily? Three gifts were immediately available to you the moment Jesus Christ became the Lord of your life. The gift of forgiveness of sins, the gift of righteousness and the gift of life (also called Zoe).
The greatest gift you ever received in Christ was life. No wonder Jesus said in John 10:10, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” The thief here who is the devil, always comes not just to make you sick, cause delays, limit you, make you poor, keep you in bondage, or discourage you. He is ultimately after the life you received because that life delivered you from sin and death, and the devil is the father of all sin and administers death.
When you have Jesus in your life, and you know you have received the Holy Spirit, know that what you received was not ordinary, but an actual life that embodies the totality of God in you. Everything in the life that you receive does not lack anything at all. So whenever you see anything happening to you that is contrary to anything good or that depicts life, know that it is not from God. The Lord Jesus Christ is not out for you not to enjoy the full benefits of the life that He gave you.
Everything that God does in your life, is all for the purpose of bringing you to enjoy the fullness of the life he came to give, John 10:10 GNT. God works in you and through you, to do everything that pleases Him, and not the devil. He is always working in and through you to make sure your life embodies what you actually received, and that is why you need to yield to the holy spirit and the work he is doing every day. “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” Philippians 2:13 (KJV).
The twofold work of the Holy Spirit in your life
There is a two-fold work that the Holy Spirit administers to you consistently in your life. He works in you and through you transformation of your mind and empowerment to witness. When He comes as the Holy Spirit, His first assignment is not only to make you a witness but it is to transform you into the vessel He can work from in witnessing to the world. When the Holy Spirit comes, His major assignment for a long period is the inner work of the believer. The degree to which you allow Him to work on you is the degree to which he will flow through you to your world.
In Ephesians 3:16-17, Paul prayed saying, “I pray that out of his glorious riches, he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.” Paul was praying for the fullness of Christ to always be at work in you and bring the necessary transformation that would allow God’s power to work through you.
What can interrupt the flowing of the power of God, and the fullness of the life you have received is the quality of the vessel. We are often too busy to allow him to do quality work in and through us. When you got born again, your spirit was immediately renewed, but your mind had things it had to let go of, that is why in Romans 12:2, we are instructed to let go of the ways of thinking that are motivated by the things we learnt from operating in the physical and begin to operate in the spiritual life from God.
The Holy Spirit helps you in your transformation
God uses a transformed believer. He aims to cleanse, renew, and purify us until we become like Christ in reality, and fit for use in the Kingdom, 2 Timothy 2:21. He does this through transformation. Transformation is the process that makes you become like Christ in experience. When you receive eternal life the first part of you that is changed is your spirit. Your mind still needs to be transformed, to conform to the character of Christ. Romans 12:2.
You can receive the Holy Spirit and even the gift of speaking in other tongues. However, that is only the beginning of your spiritual transformation. The next step is to allow the Holy Spirit to Work in you, and through you. You do this by building character, working on your mind, and through the knowledge of His word and taking action on it by faith, and soon enough your life reflects the life God has revealed about His people in the word. A scripture-compliant life.
God aims first for your transformation. Your witnessing to the nations is predicated upon your quality of transformation. So we yield ourselves to be transformed so that we are filled to overflow the life of God, and then He begins to flow to the world through us. Read Acts 4:33. The Holy Spirit helps you in this transformation phase, and works to make you this effective but before this effectiveness comes. He transforms and presses out of you pure oil that God desires to see. Sometimes the pressing of the olive fruit to become oil is very painful.
The life-giving ministry of the Holy Spirit can look like death for a long time because in transformation there will be quietness, your gift may not be recognised, and you may not yet be sent to nations. Only to the degree to which you patiently go through a transformation and become the vessel that can host that river of water, His power. God’s power operates as a flow.
Acts 2:42 says, “And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.” The transformation assignment works through the word and prayer.
In Acts 20:32, we see that the word of God promises everyone an inheritance. Those who are transformed by the word of God, position themself to receive their inheritance because He has been transformed through the sanctification of the word. If you do not submit yourself to the word and prayer you have suffocated the life-giving ministry of the Holy Spirit. He is the spirit of truth whom the world has not known but you know Him, Jesus said, John 14:17 KJV.
Your mind must be renewed to conform to the mind of Christ. Satan is out to blind the minds of many, that they might not see who they are in Christ, and ultimately enjoy the inheritance they have in Christ, so he makes sure that even believers are kept busy doing things that will not result in transformation, and fruitful Christian lives. You must stay with the spirit of life to give you knowledge and understanding.
Yield to the leading and training of the Holy Spirit every day
Every lecture in the realm of the spirit needs to be attended. Your life is full of lecture series that God puts you through, to make you what He has purposed for you. Missing any of them is a great mistake because the deficiency of knowledge will be evident when the spiritual need for the required results is demanded out of life circumstances. When you are transformed you allow the grace of God to flow through your life as well, because now you do not rely on human reasoning that frustrates the grace of God from working in your favour. As Paul said, we should not frustrate the grace of God, Galatians 2:21.
Genesis 12:2, God wants to give you a name, it is the name that He uses as a means to reach nations and peoples. So when itching for ministry you are called yes, but let him send you himself. He calls man to himself, furnishes them with knowledge and then sends them out to be his witnesses. We see this model even with the disciples, he first called them to Himself, they followed Him, learning from Him, and then He sent them out with authority and power to make disciples of all nations. Notice that Jesus even changed their identity in the process. he made them “fishers of man”. That is why Abram was changed to Abraham, Sarai to Sarah, and Jacob to Israel. He transformed their natural names through training and sent them to do His work, a spiritual exercise that He does with every one of us. The next time you wonder why things have not gone the way you expect, check whether you have fully yielded to the Holy Spirit and the work God wants to do through you.
A lot of the problems can be solved when you are fully yielded to the helper, the Holy Spirit. Without transformation, that walks in the fullness of life that you received, you will keep living an ordinary life. Remember how the disciples turned the world upside down? Acts 17:6 (KJV). This simply meant that they dominated their world and life’s circumstances. It could be poverty, lack, difficulties, demonic attacks, or continuous illnesses which the devil has used to attack and steal away your life’s benefits, but when transformation comes, and the truth is revealed to you, you will begin to live above those circumstances.
Even Jesus was trained before He met John the Baptist who would anoint Him for His ministry. John recognised the trained Jesus, so much that he felt he was not worthy to anoint Him. Jesus was humbled enough to allow scripture to be fulfilled. You must be hungry for the training of the Spirit of Life. Ephesians 3:19-20. When you go through that inner work on transformation and training, He will isolate you to reveal and teach you things.
The spirit and his life-giving ministry of the holy spirit on earth is not independent of man. The river flows through man. The first Adam was made a living soul, and the second Adam is a life-giving spirit, 1 Corinthians 15:45. The life we have is that of life-giving spirits. If we are in Christ, we are life-giving Spirits. That is why there is healing, abundance, and power. Adam was not a life-giving spirit. His life was very different to the life we have in Christ today.
God desires a worthy channel to flow His power to do mighty works in people’s lives, John 20:30-31. The miracles of Jesus were to stimulate us towards that end, life! This is for vessels aligned and yielded to God, and the teaching ministry of the Holy Spirit, to demonstrate the fullness of Christ through you, and for His knowledge, wisdom and power to flow out to fix the problems in your world.

When God trains man as far as your witness is concerned, you will never be expected to be proficient in all three. He gave some to His body to work in harmony together. That is why there are conferences, and sermons from different vessels (servants of God) that minister of the Gospel. You are not at liberty to choose which one you will emphasize, for He knows what you need to be an effective witness for Him.
