My husband, Happy and I have been looking to move for the past 2 months or so. After going through several real estate agents and properties, I just got frustrated. In all honesty, I literally gave up. I was already worn out from all the other work I was doing, let alone dealing with agents trying to make a quick buck out of us. I was tired.
My husband, a man endowed with the tremendous spiritual gift of faith, on the other hand, was unusually calm. His prayers were specific. He literally told God what he wanted in that house (right down to the color of the paint, if I should exaggerate). He would simply go into prayer, come out to eat, and work. I literally felt like he wasn’t doing enough. I know wives can be guilty of feeling this way sometimes.
I started to wonder whether our expectations were unreasonable. Happy on the other end thought everyone else was being unreasonable. Then again I remembered one preacher saying, “In a world with over seven billion people, don’t you think there won’t be at least one person to meet your need, one person your business will service, one person to open the doors of their company to you, one person to pray for you. It takes just one person to be used by God to favor you. That right there changed everything.
It was in that moment that God reminded me that if I can think of it, surely He was well able to exceed it. God can fulfill our needs in this season simply through the power at work in us. What is that power? Faith. This power can be in letting God take the reigns or you put in the work. You would know in detail what it is that you need to do in order to see exceedingly great results.
In order to see the promises that are far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams, you need to build and action your faith. I encourage you today to step out in faith, even for the unusual instruction God has given, and see Him do what He knows to do best.
Prayer for faith
Dear Father, I thank you for the measure of faith that you have bestowed unto me. Increase my faith Father, so that I am able to believe you for the exceeding great promises you have for me. Let me walk in the revelation that you are limitless and are able to exceed my thoughts and requests. By the power in the name of Jesus, I destroy every imagination that does not line up with God’s character, ability, and will for my life.
I demolish every deceptive fantasy that opposes God. I break every arrogant attitude that is raised up in defiance of the true knowledge of God. I imprison every thought and insist that it bow in obedience to Jesus Christ. I pray in Jesus’ Name, Amen
