You are qualified in God

‘Not that we are fit (you are qualified and sufficient in ability) of ourselves to form personal judgments or to claim or count anything as coming from us, but our power and ability and sufficiency are from God.’ 2 Corinthians 3:5

How is the month of no excuses coming along? What goal did you set? Have you been able to stay on course or have you given multiple reasons why you cannot achieve what you set out to do? Maybe one of those reasons in you rmind might be that you are not qualified enough for it. If that is the case, then this is for you.

My family recently came back from vacation. As part of our activities, I decided to try out fishing for the very first time in my life. I was very eager and excited. I set my beginner’s goal at ten. The very first day I caught three. The next day I ended up getting a total of nine.

I remember how our captain would pick out my mistakes as he showed me how it was done. Surprisingly with all my inexperience and mistakes, I caught the most fish. Had I listened to that inner voice that I was inexperienced, I would have failed. But I just went for it.

Moses had a ‘You are qualified’ moment in life

Often we disqualify ourselves based on societal standards, our perception of self, other people’s perception of us, or even our lack of experience. This was the same with Moses too. His ideal deliverer was bold and eloquent, but that was not God’s choice. God had chosen him.

In choosing the apostles, Jesus teaches the fact that our qualification is not in ourselves but in God. He clearly says, “He would make them” meaning He would teach, empower and equip the chosen for the assignment He was calling them to. When God calls you it’s because you can already do what He has set out for you. If not, He qualifies you!

I encourage you to revisit that goal you had set and do it because you are qualified.
